HOW TO PLAN FOR YOUR WINTER SEASON AT KEYSTONE DURING COVID
2020-2021 ski and ride season is upon us and things are going to be a bit different this year. We are here to help you navigate the winter season at Keystone and all the mountain has to offer.
The rules and reservations may have changed but this winter season at Keystone Resort is still the place to play for all ages. Read below for helpful tips on how to navigate the new sport of skiing and riding during COVID-19.
1. Buy a pass
First thing is first this winter season at Keystone, be sure to buy your Epic pass. It is the best deal and this year that proves even more true with early access to the mountain, priority booking days and the best bang for your buck. Epic pass holders will receive early access to the mountain, only pass holders ski/ride until December 8th.
If you are unable to buy an Epic pass this year, do not worry, lift tickets are still available starting December 8th. There will not be tickets available at the window. Make sure you buy your lift tickets early (7 days in advance) so they are not sold out when you come this winter season to Keystone Resort.
2. Plan Ahead: book your priority reservation days (pass holders only)
You may not be able to make last-minute powder day plans this year, but you can book your ski days ahead of time to make sure you make turns with friends and family! This winter season at Keystone, all pass holders get seven Priority Reservation Days for the core season (December 8th – April 4th). Book a big seven day trip (better get those legs ready) or lock in special weekends starting November 6th through December 7th. This winter season at Keystone is it all about planning ahead so get with your winter crew and reserve your days on the hill this November.
Bonus: If you cannot get the Priority Reservation Days you want by Dec. 7, and have not used your pass, you can get a refund with Epic Coverage.
3. Keep reserving days all season long and even book a room
Worried you won’t get your turns in this winter season? As a pass holder, you can make as many week-of reservations as availability and your pass type allows. You are going to want to bookmark EpicPass.com. It has everything you need to book a reservation with real-time availability. Once you book, all you need is to bring yourself, pass and gear to the hill. Your pass will be activated for the selected days and you can jump in the lift line (mask and all).
With all the planning, it is best to put your feet up after a long day on the hill. Keystone Resort has lots of world class lodging perfect for your every need. Summit Cove Vacation Lodging Rentals is even offering monthly rentals of 30 nights at select properties so you can work from home or even better the slopes. Did your plans change or did something come up? With all the unknowns of the season, you can safely book your lodging with Keystone Resort’s flexible booking policy.
4. Follow the Commitments to Safety and Prepare to Play
Here at Keystone Resort we are committed to making sure our guests and staff stay safe while playing this winter. Skiing and riding with a mask on is no different than any other cold day on the hill. Bring your buff or gator and make sure you wear it when standing in line, going indoors to warm up, a bathroom break or to grab some food. There won’t be any awkward lift conversations this year because you can only ride with your group. Even while vacationing this winter you must maintain 6ft of physical distance, wash hands frequently, wear a mask and please stay home if you are sick. This year it is all about staying safe and having fun!
Do you have questions about riding the chairs or gondolas? Questions regarding the Ski and Ride School? Or questions about on-mountain dining? No worries, Keystone Resort has laid out the new laws of the land as we all re-imagine the on-mountain experience together.
5. Plan activities off the mountain
Lastly, it is important to not put all your eggs in one basket this year. We recommend planning some activities off the hill in case the mountain is booked. Grab a coffee at Inxpot Coffeehouse or a to-go burger and beer at Kickapoo Tavern. Shop safely for ski gear at Christy Sports or that cozy sweater at Arriesgado Clothing Company. There is plenty of great shopping and dining in River Run Village to explore and get that Keystone swag you have been looking for. *Check Summit County Environmental Health guidelines as regulations are constantly updating.
Warren Station Center for the Arts, events are gearing up again. Keep an eye on the calendar for developing schedules as health orders allow. Events at Warren Station include film series, comedy shows, rock concerts, spirits and wine tastings and much more. The Warren Station Winter Comedy Series is kicking off Saturday, Feb. 20th! Things may be different but winter will still be the same. We hope to see you this upcoming winter season at Keystone and as always, pray for snow!
