TOP 5 CHANGES AT BACON & BOURBON FESTIVAL 2022
Summer is just around the corner, and Keystone Bacon & Bourbon Festival celebrates its 11th anniversary this year, kicking off the Keystone Festivals summer lineup on June 25th & 26th.
With new changes happening every summer, we want to keep you updated on what to expect when visiting Keystone! Here are the top 5 changes at Bacon & Bourbon Festival in 2022 that we’re looking forward to.
1. Unlimited Bacon
The most welcome change of 2022, because after all, this is a BACON festival! We’re excited to announce three of the on-site bacon companies, Berkwood Farms, Des Moines Bacon Co and City Meat Market, from whom guests with pre-purchased tickets can sample unlimited, sizzlin’ bacon strips. The Hungry Hog package, Piglet Package, and Food Pass all include unlimited bacon sampling this year. Where’s the action? Head to the central Events Plaza to find your favorite bacon companies cooking bacon strips on-site all day with the convenience of flat-top Camp Chef Grills.
Hot Tip: Stay tuned for announcements about other attending bacon companies!
2. A-la-carte food, RFID-Style
A change made by popular demand, guests without a ticket package can now purchase individual food samples from food vendors of their choice. At Bacon & Bourbon Festival, all samples are $5, no matter which food vendor you visit. Pick up an RFID Keystone Festivals food ticket at Festival Check-In or the food ticket booth in the village. Connect it to your bank card, then tap at a food booth to purchase a sample!
Hot Tip: Want to go all out on bacon dish samples? Pre-purchase a food pass to get 10 samples from 10 different participating food vendors, PLUS unlimited bacon strips!
3. Revamped Camp Bacon
We brought back some classic elements of Camp Bacon that guarantee fun for piglets of all ages. Purchase a piglet package to try bacon dishes, bacon strips, lemonades, and a piggy craft from The Frosted Flamingo mobile art studio.
Didn’t get a ticket? One thing that never changes at Keystone Bacon & Bourbon Festival is FREE on-site activities for the kiddos. Pick up a bacon scavenger hunt from the craft tent. Next, explore your way around River Run Village, completing the activities to spell B-A-C-O-N. Check out the Camp Bacon Chalk Corridor to make your artistic mark on Camp Bacon. Crawl through the Cave of Confusion trailer maze, and get your face painted to celebrate the weekend.
Hot Tip: Stop by Camp Bacon at Quaking Aspen Amphitheater at 2 pm on Saturday and Sunday to learn the Camp Bacon song with Ranger Marshall!
4. TINCUP Whiskey Tour
We’re excited to announce our new partner, TINCUP Mountain Whiskey, a whiskey with deep Colorado roots, named after the mining town of Tincup. Stay tuned for announcements on the rest of the TINCUP Whiskey Tour lineup, and purchase a Hungry Hog ticket in advance to guarantee your participation in the signature sampling event.
5. Rockin’ Music on 4 Stages
Last year, we introduced 4 “micro-stages” throughout the village to keep people moving around the festival grounds. It turns out, that more music is just more fun! We’re bringing back the 4 stages with full music schedules all weekend. And, we’re turning back up the volume on the Events Plaza main stage with Hell’s Belles headlining Saturday and Queen Nation headlining Sunday.
Hot Tip: Check out the full music schedule here!
No matter which of the above festival changes is most exciting to you, there’s a little something for everyone at Keystone Festivals. We didn’t even mention the bacon eating contest! The only way to see it all is to see it for yourself. Grab your family, kids, girlfriends, drinking buddies, music friends, or all of the above, and mark your calendar for June 25th & 26th, 2022!
