Keystone Festivals gives you the ultimate “Bluegrass and Beer Festival Survival Guide”

Celebrate 22 years of Keystone’s Bluegrass and Beer Festival the right way! Follow our Local’s Tips to create your ideal weekend full of epic tunes and tasty brews.

A Pitcher Perfect Day

It’s easy to get overwhelmed with the 40+ breweries, 15 food tents, 13 bands, 2 specialty beer seminars and more at the Keystone Bluegrass and Beer Festival this August 4th and 5th. Whether you purchase our 1-Day Beer Glass Pass or the full Weekend Beer Glass Pass, we suggest some pre-event planning. Visit the Keystone Festivals website and you’ll find a full schedule of events, band line up, lists of food, shopping, breweries and even a full map. There’s every tool to plan your day down to the smallest detail. With bands like The Lil Smokies and Mandolin Orange on the roster, scheduling is essential so you’ll never miss a single guitar strum or tasty brew. Local’s Tip: Don’t forget to visit Quaking Aspen Amphitheater next to Warren Station if you’re looking for a place away from the crowds to enjoy some bluegrass music over the weekend!

When the Heat is Un-beer-able

As refreshing as beer is on a hot day in the mountains, sometimes you just need to beat the heat. Step inside and take a seat at the festival’s specialty beer seminars in Warren Station. There are 3 events over the Bluegrass and Beer weekend plus the New Belgium Fat Tire Hangout out front. Play some games, learn about beer and, of course, get some samples as you do. Have you heard about this new Local’s Tip? This year, Warren Station will be holding a Cornhole Championship courtesy of New Belgium Brewing. Sign your team up and you’ll each receive a refreshing brew to cool you down as the competition heats up! Additional Warren Station festival events include: Eat, Drink, Pick – beer pairing dinner on Friday night and the Sour Session – educational beer seminar on Saturday!

Pair like a Pro

With so many beers to taste, we definitely suggest visiting the various food tents so you can keep up! Our local food vendors bring their best dishes to pair with your brews like brats, nachos, tacos and even beer flavored ice cream! Follow us on social media to take advantage of this Local’s Tip: a couple days before each festival, we post the festival menus to Facebook and Twitter! Plan out your must-try booths and get excited for some delicious eats!

Thank Brew Very Much

The Keystone Bluegrass and Beer Festival would not be possible without help from our volunteers. Interested in getting involved? Volunteer with the High Country Conservation Center to assist with tickets, crafts, breweries and more! Even as an attendee of the event, there are still ways to participate. HCC is making the festival Zero Waste again! Got trash? Find a Zero Waste tent and make sure you follow the images to dispose properly. It only takes a minute to do but can have a lifelong impact on our environment! This next Local’s Tip is the best way for all of our beer fanatics to get involved in the festival. Participate in the #keystonebestbrew contest to support the brewery that you think had the best beer over the weekend. Just take a picture with their beer and post it on social media. Don’t forget to tag @keystonefestivals, the brewery and use #keystonebestbrew so your vote is counted. They could win a commemorative framed 2018 Bluegrass and Beer poster along with free lodging for next year’s festival. Show your passion for beer and participate!

So join us in our pursuit of hoppiness at the Keystone Bluegrass and Beer Festival, August 4th and 5th! With these Local’s Tips, it’s sure to be another unforgettable weekend!
