From Snowcat to Irwin Brewing Company

“Dreamed it up in a snowcat and brought it to fruition in one of Colorado’s great ski towns”. At Irwin Brewing Company, we craft a wide selection of award-winning ales and lagers at 8,888 feet in Crested Butte, CO. At Irwin Brewing, we have been harvesting the sun, turning snowmelt into beer and fueling outdoor adventures since 2017.

Irwin Brewing on Belleview Avenue in Crested Butte is open for growler fills and keg sales Friday and Saturday from 3pm – 6pm. In addition, our new coop retail space is open next door Mon-Fri and filled with branded Irwin gear. Not surprising, you’ll find our beer at all of the hot spots in Crested Butte and on draft at great bars, restaurants, and tap houses from Aspen to Telluride.

Be it après, or simply sitting around the campfire, our beer pairs best with good friends and adventure in wild places!

Meet the Brewer: Dave Nornes

Dave Nornes, Colorado native and long-time Crested Butte resident is our head brewer. He began his brewing career in the late 90’s as a brewer at Bristol Brewing. Dave brings 20+ years’ experience to Irwin Brewing Co and brews a wide-range of styles. From extremely precise and crisp Pilsners to juicy, fruit-forward Hazy IPAs, to a well-balanced, fruited Berliner Weise  – a recent collaboration with Jagged Mountain in Denver.
