Eat, Drink, Pick at Warren Station – Few things are better than a delicious dinner with the perfect beer for every course.
This year on August 3rd, Chef Chris Rybak and New Belgium have curated a unique menu which will delight foodies and craft beer enthusiast alike. Eat, drink and pick your way through the night and enjoy this local pairing dinner that kicks off the Bluegrass and Beer Festival weekend.
The appetizers consist of beef, chicken, and cheese empanadas alongside orange onion pepita salad, and chicarrnon with chile lime radish slaw. This light and flavorful start to the meal pairs perfectly with New Belgium’s Mural “Agua Fresca Cerveza” (ABV 4.2% IBU 11) known for its smooth finish and drinkability.
The next course is a baby spinach salad with jumpin’ good goat “first snow,” dressed in a delicious Asian pear lemon vanilla vinaigrette. The brewers at New Belgium have selected their Fat Tire Belgian White (ABV 5.2% IBU 12) to pair with this course for the crisp flavor and the fact this beer packs more of a punch with an ABV of 5.2%.
Three entrees will be served including shrimp and scallop paella which will be paired with the first sour beer selections of the evening, New Belgium’s Sour Saison (ABU 7% IBU 18). If you have no experience with sour beer, this selection is the perfect sour to peak your interest in this unique sub-set of beers.
The next entrée is the kalbi marinated Korean beef short ribs with jasmine rice. The pairing for this dish is La Folie Sour Brown Ale (ABV 7% IBU 18). This is a darker beer with tons of flavor and a little goes a long way.
The last entrée is honey siracha pineapple chicken with broccoli paired with the “biggest” beer of the night Voodoo Ranger Juicy Haze IPA (ABV 7.5% IBU 42). It wouldn’t be a proper beer maker’s dinner without a delicious IPA in the mix! At 7.5% IPA lovers will be ecstatic with this selection.
Dessert will be strawberry lemon custard cupcakes with New Belgium’s Tartastic Strawberry Lemon Ale (ABV 4.2% IBU 8), a perfect end of the evening beer which will be sure to leave its impression with is mildly sweet and crisp finish.
All of this delicious food and drink will be enjoyed with the backdrop of local bluegrass standouts, Shaky Hand String Band. Don’t miss this event as it promised to be a memorable summer evening of outstanding food, drink and music. Tickets available now at warrenstation.com.
